Animal Attire   Animal attire stampedes the high street, and kicks us off for winter with every mammal, reptile and insect-inspired garment you can think of. Apparently, this trend doesn’t care if you’re sweet and dippy, dark and ditzy, or just a little on the ghetto side, because it has something for everyone.    Whether it be a ring in the shape of antlers, (knuckle duster more like), or a pair of tights in the form of a cobweb, your home street will be invaded by the high street and you’ll find it hard to resist. I know I do! I’ve already equipped myself with the cute little bear hat, (mask) that you can see above, and my friend bought a pair of boxers covered in deer. Oh yes, boys. You’ll want those too. I wish I was male just so I could purchase a pair of those.   Street style is rapidly changing, with the invasion of the animals coming up next. But the best thing about these hurrying trends is that you can pick and choose whether you want to follow them or not. Do you want to wear deer boxers and run around the house pretending to be a bear? Or would you rather chill in your hoodie and a pair of leggings? Street style is all about having fun. Just remember to have fun your way.   Nesha, The Button Owl blog.

Pod à porter from Dutch Designer Michiel Cornelissen.

In the streets, at the beach, on the town: Pod à porter is the easiest way to wear your music - even if you’re not wearing much.

No more wire-tangle, headphones dangling by your knees, or ripping buds from your ears when you take off your jacket.

Precision manufactured from 3D printed polyamide, Pod à porter is ultralight and has a velvet-like surface finish. It fits the iPod shuffle 3d generation, leaving all controls accessible.

Julius Wright a.k.a Lyrical God sees the world as a “playground”. Julius is a 21-year-old Philadelphian beat/rap artist, a combination of urban percussionist and MC, whose exceptional talents combine to deliver a moving and sometimes brutal street soundscape.

Anything he can pen-tap or beat on is used for his music - stop signs, trash cans, post boxes - the city of Philadelphia becomes a re-appropriated soundboard reflecting the rhythm of his life.

Wright picked up a pen and started tapping on his school desk in the eighth grade and has now grown from the street to the studio. Julius tells us the city made him who he is, he in turn has remade the city, digging out its hidden rhythms and reaching out to its people.

This video was produced for ‘Burn’ energy. Directed by Glendyn Ivin.
